Big Rapids, Mich. - The nationally 20th-ranked Ferris State University men's hockey team completed a weekend sweep over the Bowling Green State Falcons with a 3-1 victory in Central Collegiate Hockey Association action on Saturday (Nov. 17) night at Bowling Green, Ohio.

Bulldog junior wing Andy Huff scored the first goal of the night at 14:12 of the opening period with the assists coming from sophomore wing Nate Milam and freshman defenseman Connor Schmidt on even-strength. The marker was Huff's fourth of the season.

In the second period, senior wing Kyle Bonis tallied his sixth goal of the season and second of the weekend on the power play with just 2:03 remaining to give FSU a 2-0 lead. Junior wing Garrett Thompson and senior center Travis Ouellette earned the assists.

Bowling Green State got on the scoreboard early in the third period when Bryce Williamson registered the Falcons' first and only goal of the evening 2:07 into the frame. The Falcons' Ryan Carpenter and Dajon Mingo were credited with the assists.

Finally, after a close 2-1 game for nearly the entire third period, Ouellette was able to notch an even-strength goal on the Falcons' empty net after a pass from Bonis with only 30 seconds remaining in the contest to seal the victory.

Sophomore Bulldog goaltender CJ Motte saved a total of 29 shots while goaltender Tommy Burke made 12 saves for the Falcons. BGSU led the shots by a count of 30-15 for the game.

The Bulldogs had eight penalties on the night totaling 16 minutes and the Falcons totaled seven penalties for 14 minutes. Each team was only able to score one goal with the man-advantage for the night as FSU finished one-of-four and the Falcons went one-for-five.

With the sweep on the weekend, the Bulldogs improved to 6-4-2 overall along with 5-3-0 in the CCHA. Meanwhile, the Falcons dropped to 2-8-3 overall with a 1-5-2 record in the CCHA.

The triumph was the Bulldogs' seventh over the Falcons in the last nine matchups over the past two seasons and represented FSU's first weekend sweep of the season.  The Bulldogs have now won their last three contests to date.
