Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University has announced reserved season tickets for the 2015-16 Bulldog men's ice hockey campaign are now on sale.
Fans can guarantee seats for all 18 home contests as the Bulldogs welcome a big slate of opponents to the Ewigleben Ice Arena for the school's 41st season of collegiate hockey in Big Rapids, which was recently voted the nation's 12th-best hockey city and top college hockey city in Michigan.
This year's home schedule features opponents such as Western Michigan, Michigan Tech, Wisconsin, Minnesota State and more.
Season tickets will also include the opening two games of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) First Round playoffs should the Bulldogs host inside the Ewigleben Ice Arena.
Seating is expected to be at a premium again this season based on results of strong student season ticket sales this summer. The Bulldogs have officially posted 20-plus sellouts overall in the last three years and the "Dawg Pound" student section has recorded 65-straight sellouts to date as Bulldog Hockey continues to be one of the hottest tickets around.
"Bulldog Hockey fans provide an atmosphere that makes our arena one of the nation's toughest venues to play in for opposing teams," said FSU head coach Bob Daniels. "It's tremendously entertaining and our players realize how special it is to play in such a big time environment."
Fans purchasing season tickets will see a savings of $31 over buying single-game adult reserved tickets in advance and will save $85 versus purchasing tickets the day of the game. In addition, season ticket packages will also offer access to a special season ticket holder event on Oct. 4 along with eligibility for special in-game seating sponsored by Katke Golf Course and an opportunity to buy single-game tickets earlier than the general public.
Adult season ticket prices for the 2015-16 season are $200 with seniors (ages 65+) along with FSU faculty/staff prices set for $190. A student ticket (age 3 to 12th grade) is $115 with all current Ferris State student tickets sold for $99 with valid student identification.
Season tickets will remain on sale and must be purchased by September 9 at 5 p.m. (ET). After that date, any unsold seats will be available for the general public to purchase once single-game ticket sales begin on Sept. 14. Forms have been mailed to all past season ticket holders, who are encouraged to renew and reserve their seats as soon as possible.
All reserved season tickets must be purchased directly thru the FSU Athletics Ticket Office located in the Ewigleben Sports Complex. The office is open Monday thru Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (ET) at this time with extended hours being offered once the school year begins.
For additional information regarding season ticket packages, please call the ticket office at (231) 591-2888.
Ferris State will return all but five seniors from this past season for the 2015-16 campaign, including eight of the squad's top nine scorers. Over the past four seasons, the Bulldogs have captured two conference championships, made two NCAA Tournament appearances and appeared in the NCAA Frozen Four national title game. FSU also advanced to the WCHA Final Five Championships for the second-straight year this past season.
The Bulldogs will embark on their 41st season this coming fall and face what should represent one of the most challenging schedules in the country. The schedule is highlighted by an impressive opening month slate that will see FSU play seven regular-season outings on home ice inside the Ewigleben Ice Arena during the first month of the season with the opponents set to include a pair of returning nationally top-10 ranked foes in Michigan Tech and Minnesota State along with the first-ever visit to Big Rapids by Wisconsin and a season-opening home-and-home matchup against former conference rival Western Michigan.
Ferris State will begin the 2015-16 campaign on Saturday, Oct. 3, with a Crimson & Gold Intrasquad contest followed by an exhibition game against a Canadian opponent in the University of Lethbridge on Sunday, Oct. 4. FSU then opens the regular-season the following weekend with a home-and-home series versus Western Michigan starting on Friday, Oct. 9, in Kalamazoo with the finale on Saturday, Oct. 10, in Big Rapids serving as the Bulldogs' regular-season home opener.
