Freshman (2015-16 Season): Helped FSU to a NCAA Regional Final appearance as well as the first WCHA Tournament Championship in team history...Played in all of the team's 41 games during his freshman season...Was tabbed the WCHA Rookie of the Year in 2015-16 after being voted the preseason Rookie of the Year...Tied for second on the team in points with 25 and led all WCHA Rookies in overall scoring...Totaled 10 goals and 15 assists in his rookie season...Earned WCHA Rookie of the Month Honors for November...Won three WCHA Player of the Week awards...Had a five-game point streak from Oct. 30-Nov. 13 in which he tallied nine total points...Had eight multi-point games during the season...Scored his first collegiate goal Oct. 17 vs. Michigan Tech in a 3-2 win...Notched his first postseason points March 27 in the NCAA Midwest Regional Final vs. Denver.

High School/Juniors: A Philadelphia native, Mackin brings a talented resume from the Coquitlam Express of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). He compiled a league-leading 50 goals and 54 assists for 104 points in 58 contests during 2014-15. That improved on his totals from 2013-14, when he scored 24 goals and 26 assists for 50 points with the Express.

In 2014-15, Mackin had 12 power play goals, nine short-handed markers and five game-winning goals. He was a BCHL First Team All-Star and claimed the Vern Dye Memorial BCHL Player of the Year honor along with the Brett Hull Trophy as the league’s top scorer. Mackin also produced seven points on two goals and five assists in five playoff games in 2014-15, while being recognized as a finalist for the league’s Most Sportsmanlike Player honor.
