Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's ice hockey team will play its first home action of the 2019 calendar year this weekend (Jan. 11-12) as the Bulldogs entertain Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) rival and nationally-ranked Minnesota State in a two-game league set at the Ewigleben Ice Arena.

The Bulldogs and the Mavericks will square off with puck drop both nights set for 7:07 p.m. (ET). The series represents the Bulldogs' only home action in the month of January.

Tickets for both contests are on sale now and can be purchased thru the FSU Athletics Ticket Office or online at StarTickets.com. Visit FerrisStateBulldogs.com for additional information or call (231) 591-2888.

The Bulldog Sports Network will carry both games live with online coverage also available at FerrisStateBulldogs.com. Harrison Watt and Conner Pyrc will have the call starting with the Johnson Automotive Pregame Show a half-hour prior to puck drop each day. Live video coverage will also be provided on a pay-per-view basis via FloHockey.tv in conjunction with the WCHA.

Currently, Ferris State has won two of its last three contests to date this year, including an exciting road win over the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Dec. 29 in a nationally-televised game on the Big Ten Network along with a 6-5 overtime triumph in WCHA play last Friday (Jan. 4) night at Alabama-Huntsville.

Meanwhile, the Mavericks enter the weekend ranked seventh in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Division I poll along with eighth by United States College Hockey online (USCHO) while sitting atop the WCHA standings.
