Ferris State Takes #9 Bowling Green To Wire In Tight Road Setback

Bowling Green, Ohio - The Ferris State University men's ice hockey team took the nationally #9-ranked Bowling Green State Falcons to the wire, but fell 2-0 on the road in Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) play on Friday (Jan. 25) night.

In goal, Ferris State junior goaltender Justin Kapelmaster made 35 saves in his third consecutive strong outing.

The Falcons got in front at 15:35 of the second period when Max Johnson scored on the power play from Brandon Kruse and Stephen Baylis for a 1-0 Falcon lead, the eventual game-winning goal.

Bowling Green added an insurance marker when Cameron Wright scored from Johnson and Alec Rauhauser for a 2-0 lead at 10:29 of the third period on a power play.

BGSU finished 2-5 on the man advantage, while the Bulldogs went 0-3. For the Falcons, Eric Dop made 22 saves for the shutout.

The Bulldogs and Falcons wrap the season series at the Slater Family Ice Arena on Saturday (Jan. 26) evening in Bowling Green starting at 7:07 p.m. (ET).
