Bulldogs Fall In Phyiscal Affair To Lake Superior State

Sault Ste. Marie, Mich - The Ferris State University men's ice hockey team fell 4-0 to the Lake Superior State Lakers on Saturday (Feb. 12) at Taffy Abel Arena in Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) play.

The Lakers jumped in front at 4:36 when Louis Boudon scored on a major power play. Jake Willets gave the Lakers a 2-0 lead on the same power play a minute later at 5:36 of the opening frame.

Lake Superior State took a 3-0 lead at 13:39 of the first on Willets' second goal of the night, followed by another goal at 8:43 of the second frame for the 4-0 Laker advantage.

The game was rife with penalties - 79 minutes combined between the two teams were whistled with the Lakers taking two major penalties in the contest.

Ferris State freshman goaltender Noah Giesbrecht made 26 saves in the game. Ethan Langenegger got the shutout victory on 20 stops. The Lakers went 2-8 on the power play while Ferris State finished 0-7.

Ferris State returns home Friday (Feb. 18) at Ewigleben Ice Arena against the Michigan Tech Huskies at 7:07 p.m. (ET).
