Presale Tickets For Bulldog Fans Now Available For Purchase To 57th Annual Great Lakes Invitational
Grand Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University men's ice hockey fans have a special opportunity to purchase advance tickets for the 57th annual Great Lakes Invitational (GLI), which takes place Dec. 27-28 at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, as presales begin Monday (Aug. 1).
Bulldogs fans can buy tickets online only via Ticketmaster during the presale window that runs until Thursday (Aug. 4) at 10 p.m. (ET) using the special alumni and student codes below. Following the presale window, all tickets will then go on sale to the general public Friday (Aug. 5) at 10 a.m. (ET).
Ticket pricing is based on a per-day basis and tickets will be distributed on a mobile device. On-glass tickets are $75, with lower bowl sections for $50 and $40, and student tickets at $20. Upper-level tickets are $30.
The Bulldogs will face Michigan State on the opening day of the GLI on Dec. 27 at 7 p.m. (ET) inside Van Andel Arena with the third-place and championship games in the event slated for Dec. 28. The host of the event is Michigan Tech with Western Michigan also slated to join the Bulldogs, Spartans and Huskies in the field.

ABOUT THE GLI:
For the first time in tournament history, the tournament will be played in Grand Rapids, Mich., at Van Andel Arena, home of the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League (AHL), the principle affiliate of the National Hockey League's (NHL) Detroit Red Wings.

The fact that it is the inaugural time it is being held at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids only adds to the excitement. Ferris State is set to take on Michigan State in the second game in GLI Semifinals on Tuesday (Dec. 27) evening, set for 7 p.m. (ET). Michigan Tech will face off with Western Michigan University in the other GLI Semifinal at 3:30 pm. The consolation final is set for 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday (Dec. 28), followed by the championship game at 7 p.m.
The Bulldogs will compete in their third Great Lakes Invitational, previously having competed in 2014 at the now demolished but historic Joe Louis Arena, and in 2019 at the state of the art Little Caesar's Arena in Detroit.
The Great Lakes Invitational was first played in 1965 after the idea for the tournament was conceived and implemented by Michigan Tech coach John MacInnes, Olympia Stadium General Manager Lincoln Cavalieri, and Detroit Red Wings Scout Jack Paterson. The tournament has been played at Olympia Stadium (1965-78), Joe Louis Arena (1979–2012, 2014–16), Comerica Park (2013), and Little Caesars Arena (2018-19). COVID-19 canceled the 2020 GLI and teams played a non-tournament showcase style event in 2021.
It will be the 17th time in tournament history with four Michigan-based teams. Michigan Tech has won the GLI 11 times in 55 tournaments and is the defending champion after a pair of 4-2 victories in the 2019 GLI. Michigan State has 12 GLI titles in 47 tournaments. Western Michigan has three titles in five appearances.
