FSU Hits The Road For Final Game Of Regular-Season
In what will be their final game before the Mason Cup playoffs begin, the Bulldogs have a road contest against Lake Superior State. In three games against the Lakers this year, FSU is 2-1, including an overtime victory in their most recent contest. Last weekend, Noah Giesbrecht led the Bulldogs to a shootout win over Northern Michigan on senior night Saturday. He made 26 saves, allowing one goal and denying all three Wildcat shootout attempts. Zach Faremouth had a goal and an assist in the series, giving him points in five of his last six games. Jacob Dirks scored a goal for the second consecutive weekend and has scored twice in four games since returning from injury.

Scouting The Lakers
Lake Superior State is set to host the Bulldogs for their final game of the regular season. Since being swept by Ferris State, the Lakers are 3-5 and coming off a split with Minnesota State in Mankato. Jared Westcott leads the CCHA with 33 points and leads the Lakers with 17 goals and 16 assists. He has six points on three goals and three assists in his last six games. Dawson Tritt is third on the squad with 23 points, leading the team with eight power play goals Connor Milburn has the best on-ice rating (+10) and has 27 points (12 goals) with four goals and an assist against Ferris State. Ethan Langenneger boasts a 2.94 goals against average and .906 saves percentage with an 11-15-1 record. In four starts, Easton Hesse has a 1.52 goals against average and .955 saves percentage. He has the Lakers' lone shutout of the season with a 30 save performance against Augustana. As a team, the Lakers struggle on the faceoff circle. Their .459 win rate is lowest of any CCHA team. Their special teams play is elite with the best penalty kill (.841) and second best power play (.234) in the CCHA. They also score the second most goals per game (3.03) and allow the fourth fewest goals per game (3.06).
Bulldogs With One Game Left
The Bulldogs are locked into the #8-seed for the CCHA tournament, but their final regular season game is extremely important as they look to build momentum following a shootout win over Northern Michigan last weekend. Ferris State went winless in February (0-5-1) with three of those losses by just a single goal. That was preceded by a four-game winning streak against the Lakers and Augustana Vikings to end January.

For the season, the Bulldogs kill penalties at a .761 rate and have converted on 14 power plays (.135 conversion rate). Zach Faremouth had a power play goal last weekend and Stepan Pokorny had one against Bemidji State. Ferris State's faceoff win percentage has steadily improved throughout February as they now win 49.5% of their draws. Noah Giesbrecht had a sensational second half of the season, highlighted by a 26-27 save performance Saturday that included three saves in the shootout win. His season-long numbers have improved to 3.79 goals against average and .884 saves percentage. Logan Stein still leads the Bulldogs with a 2.85 goals against average and a .911 saves percentage. Antonio Venuto leads with 26 points on 12 goals, but has not recorded a point since Jan. 27 against Augustana and has not scored a goal since Jan. 5 against Bemidji State. Zach Faremouth has points in five of his last six games,
