Men's Tennis Drops Road Match At Chicago

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis team suffered a 6-3 setback in a match played late Tuesday (March 8) night against the University of Chicago.

The contest was played at the Evergreen Park (Ill.) Racquet and Fitness Club.  The match began at 9 p.m. (CT) and was not completed until the early morning hours on Wednesday.

Chicago posted its fifth consecutive victory while improving to 8-2 overall this campaign while the Bulldogs fell to 2-2 on the year.

Ferris held a 2-1 edge after the doubles round, but Chicago rallied back with five wins in singles play.

Ferris State is presently ranked 40th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II Poll while Chicago is listed 17th in the ITA's Division III rankings.

The Bulldogs continue action on their spring break trip by DePauw (Ind.) on Thursday, March 10, for a 4:30 p.m. (ET) tilt in Greencastle, Ind.
