Ferris Opens Weekend Slate With Home Win

Big Rapids, Mich. - The nationally-ranked Ferris State University men's tennis team started its three-match weekend homestand off with a victory on Friday (March 25) as the Bulldogs rolled past Tiffin by a 9-0 count.

The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) win took place inside the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids.

Ferris State took all three doubles flights in convincing fashion and then picked up victories in all six singles positions, including five in straight-sets.

FSU, which is currently ranked 40th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II National Poll along with sixth in the Midwest Region, improved to 8-4 overall and 3-1 in the GLIAC with the triumph.

Meanwhile, Tiffin dropped to 6-8 on the year and 1-3 in conference action.

Ferris State continues its weekend home slate by hosting Findlay on Saturday (March 26) morning at 9:30 a.m. (ET) followed by a league contest on Sunday (March 27) versus rival Grand Valley State in Big Rapids at 10 a.m. (ET).
