FSU Men's Tennis Falls To Regional Foes
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis team dropped a pair of matches against regionally-ranked foes on the road this past weekend (April 8-9).
The Bulldogs suffered a 6-2 loss versus Lewis (Ill.) on Friday (April 8) afternoon to open the two-match trip. FSU then fell to Southern Indiana by an 8-1 count in Saturday's (April 9) neutral site tilt at the same location.
Ferris State dropped to 12-7 overall this season with the two setbacks.
FSU entered this weekend's play listed sixth in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Midwest Regional Rankings. USI is presently third with Lewis at number seven overall.
The top six teams at the end of the year will earn berths into the NCAA-II Tournament in early May at a campus site to be announced. The official announcement of this year's field will be made later this month.
Ferris State will next take part in the 2011 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament this weekend (April 15-17) in Midland, Mich.
