Men's Tennis Falls To North Georgia In Final Match Of Spring Break Trip

Big Rapids, Mich. - The nationally 37th-ranked Ferris State University men's tennis team wrapped up its annual spring break trip with an 8-1 setback to North Georgia in non-league play on Saturday (March 15) at the UNG Tennis Complex located at Yahoola Creek Park in Dahlonega, Ga.

The Nighthawks, who were facing a national top-50 team for the fourth consecutive outing, took a 2-1 lead following the doubles round after winning the second and third flights. They then swept the six singles matches to record the victory over the Bulldogs.

FSU's lone win on the day was at one doubles where the tandem of Laurent Galarneau and Aaron Dial teamed up to post a 8-5 win over Mateus Camasmie and Rodrigo Magan. 

In singles play, North Georgia won five of the six flights in straight-sets and pulled out a tiebreaker at number five singles where Cameron Mistr beat FSU's Jose Calero 6-4, 1-6, 10-8.
North Georgia improved to 8-3 overall with the win while FSU fell to 2-11 on the year with the setback.

The Bulldogs will resume Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) action by venturing to Michigan's Upper Peninsula for a pair of league matchups next weekend. FSU visits Lake Superior State on Saturday (March 22) for a 10 a.m. (ET) tilt and then faces Michigan Tech on Sunday (March 23).
