Ferris State Men's Tennis Posts Key Regional Win By Sweeping St. Joseph's

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis team continued its impressive play early this spring as the Bulldogs topped visiting St. Joseph's (Ind.) 9-0 on Saturday (Feb. 20) in a key regional match inside FSU's Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids.

The Bulldogs posted their second shutout in as many days by topping the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) foe in a Midwest Region tilt before a home crowd.

With the win, Ferris State improved to 4-1 overall this season with the lone setback coming against NCAA Division I Western Michigan on the road.

In the win over the Pumas, Ferris State jumped out to an early edge by sweeping the doubles round with the closest score being an 8-3 decision at number two. FSU took both the first and third flights by identical 8-2 margins.

Ferris State followed its doubles play up by rolling to straight-set wins in all six singles flights.

A total of seven different Bulldogs players contributed to the team win.

Ferris State wraps up its three-match weekend homestand by hosting Lewis (Ill.) in another big regional tilt on Sunday (Feb. 21) starting at 10 a.m. (ET).
