Ferris State Men's Tennis Storms Past Longtime League Rival Northwood

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis team picked up a big road win as the Bulldogs dominated longtime archrival Northwood in a 7-2 triumph on Saturday (April 16) at the Gerstacker Tennis Center in Midland.

With the win, Ferris State stayed unbeaten in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) as the defending league champions improved to 16-4 overall and 6-0 in conference play with the win.

FSU took a 2-1 lead following doubles play as the Bulldogs rolled to victories and the second and third flights against the Timberwolves.

In singles action, FSU then captured five of the six flights with the lone setback coming in three sets at the third singles position.

The win was the Bulldogs' 15th-straight league regular season win. FSU also handed Northwood its first league loss of the year as the Timberwolves fell to 7-5 overall and 3-1 in the GLIAC.

Ferris State will try to remain the league's only unbeaten squad as the Bulldogs visit Wayne State on Sunday (April 17) for a league showdown in the Motor City. Wayne State also entered the weekend undefeated in conference play at 4-0 overall.
