Ferris State Tennis Caps Unbeaten Weekend With Dominating GLIAC Home Win

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State men's tennis team wrapped up its three-match weekend homestand with a dominating 9-0 win over Hillsdale in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play on Sunday (Feb. 26) afternoon at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.

The nation's 20th-ranked Bulldogs improved to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the GLIAC with the sweep of the Chargers. It was FSU's second consecutive shutout to open league action in the past two days.

Ferris State started off quickly as the Bulldogs took all three doubles flights. FSU pulled out a close 9-7 win at the top spot and had decisive 8-0 and 8-1 victories and the second and third spots, respectively.

In singles action, the Bulldogs rolled with all six flights going straight-sets.

A total of eight different players saw action for Ferris State in the home victory as the region's top-ranked team stayed unbeaten.

Ferris State returns to action next Sunday, March 5, with a non-league tilt at Cameron (Okla.). FSU will play a total of three matches in Oklahoma and Texas over the annual university spring break period against strong competition.
