#15 Ferris State Posts One Of Most Decisive Wins Ever Over Northwood

Big Rapids, Mich. - The nationally 15th-ranked Ferris State University men's tennis squad posted one of its most dominating wins ever against longtime Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) rival Northwood on Friday (April 7) as FSU rolled over the Timberwolves by a 9-0 score inside FSU's Racquet and Fitness Center.

The Bulldogs and the Timberwolves squared off for the first time this season with the two-time defending GLIAC Champions posting a decisive win in front of the home fans.

Ferris State captured all three doubles flights with two of the contests decided by identical 8-1 scores at the first and third positions in the lineup. FSU also got an 8-5 win at two doubles to take a 3-0 lead in the match.

In singles play, Ferris State managed to win all six flights in strong fashion in straight-sets with the closest match decided by a 6-4, 6-2 count at the third flight. 

Overall, eight different players saw action and contributed to the team win as Ferris State improved to 13-2 overall and stayed atop the GLIAC standings with a perfect 6-0 GLIAC record. NU fell to 7-8 overall and 3-2 in the GLIAC.

The victory was the seventh in a row for the Bulldogs, who are presently also ranked first in the Midwest Region.

Ferris State plays another important league home match on Sunday (April 9) as the Bulldogs host Wayne State in Big Rapids starting at 10 a.m. (ET).
