Ferris State Stays Unbeaten In Spring TennisFest With Decisive Men's Tennis Victory

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis squad stayed unbeaten on its spring trip and won its third consecutive outing with a decisive 7-2 win over Salem International (W.Va.) on Sunday (March 4) at the Spring TennisFest in Hilton Head, S.C.

The Bulldogs claimed their second Spring TennisFest win by taking two of the three doubles flights along with the top five singles positions in the triumph.

FSU, which beat Chowan 5-4 in the opening match in Hilton Head on Saturday, returned to the court on Sunday and bolted out to an early lead thanks to doubles wins from the tandem of Steward Sell and Nur Adim Ramdani Iswan at the number one flight along with the number three pairing of Mathis Guerre and Pablo Munoz Baroja.

In singles action, Ferris State swept the top five spots in the lineup, which included three-set wins at the top three flights where Sell, Daniil Tarantinov and Baroja all dropped the opening set before rallying for the win.

Ferris State improved to 6-2 overall with the non-league victory.

The Bulldogs continue action in Hilton Head at the Spring TennisFest against Newberry (S.C.) on Tuesday (March 6) starting at 11:45 a.m. (ET).
