Men's Tennis Stays Perfect On Spring Break Trip With Fifth Win In A Row

Big Rapids, Mich. - Another day meant another win for the Ferris State University men's tennis squad as the Bulldogs beat Davis & Elkins 8-1 on Wednesday (March 7) at the Spring TennisFest event in Hilton Head, S.C.

The Bulldogs, under first-year head coach Daniel Hangstefer, won their fifth consecutive outing to improve to 8-2 on the year.

The triumph was also FSU's fifth-straight on its spring break trip, including the fourth in a row in Hilton Head at the Spring TennisFest.

Ferris State won all three doubles flights with the Bulldogs' top two tandems taking identical 8-4 scores along with a decisive 8-0 triumph at the third spot in the lineup.

FSU also won five of the six singles matches, including one from Steward Sell by retirement at the second spot in the lineup.

Davis & Elkins' lone win came at four singles in a tightly-contested three-setter. FSU also got a three-set win from Daniil Tarantinov at the third flight in the lineup.

With Wednesday's 8-1 win, the Bulldogs have now won each of their last three outings by scores of at least 7-2 overall. FSU is a perfect 4-0 in neutral site contests this year to date.

The Bulldogs close out their spring trip with their final match in Hilton Head against Assumption on Thursday (March 8) starting at 8:30 a.m. (ET).
