Ferris State Tennis Scores Big Road Win At Northwood For 10th-Straight Victory

Big Rapids, Mich. - The nationally 23rd-ranked Ferris State University men's tennis squad scored a big win and stretched its winning streak to 10 consecutive matches with a 7-2 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) road victory on Thursday (March 29) against rival Northwood in Midland.

The Bulldogs improved to 13-2 overall and 3-0 in the GLIAC with the triumph over the Timberwolves at the Greater Midland Tennis Center.

Ferris State captured two of the three doubles flights with 8-4 and 8-5 wins at the second and third flights, respectively, to grab the early advantage.

In singles action, three of the six spots in the lineup were determined in three sets with FSU pulling out all three at the numbers two, four and five flights.

Northwood's lone win in both singles and doubles competition came at the top spot in the lineup.

The Bulldog road win snapped NU's six-match winning streak and dropped the Timberwolves to 10-2 on the year. It was also Northwood's first setback in six home outings this year.

Ferris State returns home for another big match on Saturday (March 31) against Grand Valley State at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center. Match time is set for 10 a.m. (ET) in Big Rapids.
