Bulldog Men's Tennis Opens Spring With Two Matches At D1 Western Michigan

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis squad officially opened its spring action with two matches against NCAA Division I Western Michigan on Friday (Feb. 8) in Kalamazoo.

The Bulldogs performed well in their first action of the year as they stepped up the level of competition, but fell to the host Broncos by a pair of 7-0 scores in their initial dual outings of the campaign.

In the first match, the Broncos claimed the doubles point by taking all three flights. They also took the six singles positions in straight-sets, but several spots were tight and closely contested.

Meanwhile, in the second match of the day, Western Michigan again emerged victorious in the doubles round and pulled out the six singles flights to earn the victory.

Both outings took place at the West Hills Athletic Club. Ferris State untilized seven different players on the day.

Ferris State will have a quick turnaround time as the Bulldogs will visit Hillsdale for a non-league regional tilt on Sunday (Feb. 10) at 11 a.m. (ET).
