Men's Tennis Drops Tight Regional Road Decision To Hillsdale
Big Rapids, Mich. - The nationally 22nd-ranked Ferris State University men's tennis squad battled the Hillsdale Chargers to the wire in regional action on Sunday (Feb. 10), but came up short in a close 4-3 setback at the Margot V. Biermann Center in Hillsdale.
The Bulldogs took the early lead by winning two of the three doubles flights to grab the first point before Hillsdale rallied to claim four of the six singles positions en route to the win.
Ferris State got identical 6-1 doubles wins at the top two spots in the lineup with the tandems of Steward Sell and Nur Adim Ramdani Iswan along with Mathis Guerre and Pablo Munoz Baroja both garnering wins.
In singles play, Ramdani Iswan and Baroja were both victorious, but Hillsdale scored wins at the bottom three singles flights in addition to a key win from Charlie Adams in an exciting three-set contest at the number one position.
Three of the six singles matches overall were decided in three sets.
Ferris State will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 16, against Lewis (Ill.) in regional play in Romeoville, Ill.
