Ferris State Tennis Teams To Face Strong Competition In Florida Starting Monday

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's tennis teams will start their annual spring break trip to Florida on Monday (March 11) as each team opens action in the Sunshine State.

The Bulldogs will face some of the top competition in the country during the week-long trip to Florida and FSU opens action on Monday as the men square off against Rollins in Winter Park at 11 a.m. (ET). The women will then hit the court later in the day at 3 p.m. (ET) against Eckerd.

The FSU women, who have won three of their four spring matches to date, will play a total of four matches this week in Florida. After Monday's opener, the Bulldogs visit Saint Leo on Tuesday (March 12) before facing Palm Beach Atlantic on Thursday (March 14) and Florida Southern on Friday (March 15) to close the trip.

Meanwhile, the Bulldog men's squad, which has won two of its last three contests overall, will face the same three teams in Saint Leo (March 12), Palm Beach Atlantic (March 14) and Florida Southern (March 15) in dual action following Monday's opener versus Rollins.

In the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) men's national rankings, Saint Leo is ranked sixth in the country with Palm Beach Atlantic listed 12th on the men's side. The Bulldogs were 26th overall in the February listing of nationally-ranked teams.

On the women's side, Saint Leo is ranked third in the nation with Florida Southern ninth overall.

Following the trip to Florida, the Bulldog men open Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play on the road at Michigan Tech on Saturday, March 23.
