Ferris State Takes Florida Southern To The Wire In Close Match To End Florida Trip

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis squad closed out its week-long trip to Florida with a close 4-3 setback to Florida Southern on Friday (March 15) at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center in Lakeland, Fla.

The Bulldogs narrowly dropped the doubles round despite a 6-2 win from the combination of Steward Sell and Nur Ramdani Iswan at the number one flight in the lineup. FSC managed to win the second and third flights in doubles play.

In singles action, Ramdani Iswan earned a straight-set win at two singles by retirement while Pablo Munoz Baroja was victorious in three sets at the number three flight. FSU's Ayush Deswal recorded a three-set victory at the fourth flight, but Florida Southern managed to win the one, five and six positions to earn the match win.

Ferris State returns home and will travel to Michigan Tech for its Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opener on Saturday, March 23, with match time set for 10 a.m. (ET) in Houghton.
