Bulldog Men's Tennis Opens Action Strong At Purdue Northwest Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis squad opened its final action of the fall campaign with day one play on Saturday (Oct. 16) in the Purdue Northwest Invitational held in Hammond, Ind.

In Flight A singles action, the Bulldogs' Yannic Alexander Mader and Mathis Guerre both won a pair of matches in the main draw.

Meanwhile, in Flight B competition, Jan Koupil also stayed victorious with two wins on the day while Benjamin Lortie netted a 1-1 mark.

FSU's Josh McDermott also came away with a pair of wins in the main draw of the Flight C action while Ayush Deswal was a winner in his lone match of the back draw.

The Bulldogs also had strong success in Flight D where Alessandro Santangelo recorded a win and Alec Olivier came away with two victories. The Bulldogs' Andrew Swirczek also saw Flight D action.

Deswal and Olivier also teamed up to win their opening match in Flight B doubles play.

The event wraps up with further singles and doubles matches on Sunday.
