Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University men's tennis standout Esunge Ndumbe (Keller, Texas) was chosen as this week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Player of the Week.
Ndumbe had a big week for the Bulldogs on FSU's annual spring break trip to Florida. The sophomore standout from Texas, who is ranked 48th nationally in singles play, notched a pair of singles wins, including an impressive 6-4, 7-5 singles win at the number two flight over the nation's #2-ranked competitor Vincent Thiel in FSU's road contest at nationally third-ranked Saint Leo (Fla.).
He also teamed up with Benjamin Lortie for a 6-3 doubles win at the top flight in the Bulldogs' contest against NCAA Division 1 Belmont and finished the week by winning both at one singles and one doubles in FSU's 4-3 regional triumph over Rockhurst (Mo.) near Orlando.
This week, the Bulldogs return to action at home with a pair of non-conference regional tilts against Tiffin on Friday (March 15) and Walsh on Saturday (March 16) at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids.
