Ferris State Track & Field Heads To GLIAC Championships This Week In Hillsdale

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams are scheduled to take part this week in the 2015 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

The annual league meet will be hosted by Hillsdale College and take place at HC's Ken Herrick Track.  It runs Wednesday thru Friday (April 29-May 1).

Action begins on Wednesday (April 29) with the multi events as the decathlon and heptathlon competitors take part in the first half of their events.

The full slate of events begins on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. (ET) and runs throughout the evening.  Final day action on Friday is slated to begin with the field events at 11 a.m. (ET) and run until late afternoon. The men's 4x400 relay concludes the event and is scheduled to take place at 3:40 p.m. on Friday. Team and individual awards will be presented shortly after the conclusion of the race.

All 16 conference schools will take part in the GLIAC Championships. Fourteen teams will be involved with the men's competition while all 16 schools currently sponsor women's track and field. 

The GLIAC is typically rated as one of the top Division II track conferences, as determined by the USTFCCA's power rankings, which are published each week. The high-level talent and imprssive depth across all events mak the GLIAC championships one of the premier events in all of NCAA Division II track and field and all of the best within the conference will be showing their wares right on the Hillsdale campus this week.
