Ferris State Track & Field Heads To GLIAC Indoor Championships This Weekend

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's indoor track and field teams will take part in the 2016 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 27-28) in Tiffin, Ohio.

The annual league meet will be hosted by Tiffin University inside the Heminger Center. The facility features a 200-meter Mondo long-straight, short-curve surface with six lanes on the oval and eight lanes on the straightaway.

In all, the championship meet will feature 15 of the 16 members of the conference.

Single-day passes are $10 for one day or $15 for both days. A two-day VIP pass on the first row is also being offered for $70 by Tiffin.

The GLIAC meet begins at 10 a.m. (ET) on Saturday with the start of the women's 60 meter hurdles in the multi-events, followed by the men's 60 meter multi's at 10:25 a.m. The running events will begin at 3 p.m. with the women's 5,000 meters. Field events will start at 1:30 p.m. with the women's weight throw. The final running event will take place at 7:15 p.m. with the men's distance medley relay.

The second and final day opens with the first running event beginning at 12:15 p.m. with the women's mile. 

Scoring in the meet will be on a 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 for eight places for individuals and relay events.
