Ferris State Track & Field Throwers Finish Among Top 20 In GVSU Last Chance Events

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's outdoor track and field squads had several competitiors take part in last chance meets this past weekend hosted by Grand Valley State in Allendale.

The Lakers hosted both a Second To Last Chance competition on Friday (May 13) along with a Last Chance meet on Saturday (May 14) at the GVSU Track and Field Stadium. Both meets allowed competitors one final chance to reach NCAA national-qualifying times and marks.

The two meets featured a limited number of athletes from schools across the conference and the region.

Overall, the Bulldogs had five finishes among the top 20 overall in the men's throwing events.

FSU's Ross Miller took seventh place in the men's shot put (48-11.75).

Meanwhile, Brett Allpow placed eighth in the discus (156-8) while Noah Minasola came in 14th overall (131-9).

FSU's Tyler Satkowiak took 11th place in the hammer throw (163-8) and Miller was 20th (145-6).
