Big Rapids, Mich. - A trio of Ferris State University men's track and field student-athletes have garnered all-region laurels for the 2018 outdoor campaign as announced by the United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA).

The Bulldogs' honorees included senior high jumper Jon Cok (Grand Rapids/Christian) along with junior thrower Cody Stilwell (Cadillac) and sophomore long jumper Stanley Williams (Sterling Heights/Chippewa Valley).

To be eligible for the all-region squads, the respective individuals must have ranked among the top five individuals in their event in the region. The regions used for the awards - Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West - match those used during the indoor track and field season.

The Bulldog trio, who are all national provisional qualifiers this season, are among a total of 688 athletes from 176 different institutions earning all-region accolades. Cok earned the honor in the high jump while Stilwell picked up all-region laurels in the hammer throw and Williams in the long jump.

During the 2018 outdoor season, Williams placed third in the long jump (7.25m) at the GLIAC Championships held May 3-4 in Ashland, Ohio. Meanwhile, Stilwell was third in the hammer throw (59.57m) while Cok finished fourth in the high jump (2.09m).

The 2018 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place May 24-26 in Charlotte, N.C. The official meet entries will be announced late Tuesday.
