Bulldog Track Squads Return To Action At GVSU Bill Clinger Classic

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University's men's and women's indoor track and field teams continued their seasons on Friday (Jan. 28) at the Bill Clinger Classic in Allendale.

Both the FSU men's and women's squads saw action inside the Laker Turf Building in the event hosted by Grand Valley State.

The Bulldog women's team had three individuals place among the top six overall in field events with Claudia Wilkinson placing fifth in the high jump (1.52m) and Emma Stephayn finishing fifth in the weight throw (15.50m) in addition to Brianna Copley taking sixth place in the shot put (12.60m).

On the track, FSU's Hanna Brock finished seventh in the mile (5:19.59) and Amelia Topolinski was seventh in the 5,000 meters (19:21.59).

Ferris State's Paige Deitering came in 10th in the 5,000 meters (19:36.44) with Wilkinson taking 11th place in the 60-meter hurdles (10.16).

The Bulldogs' group of Makayla Roberts, Kayla Muth, Daisy England and Danae Feldpausch placed 10th in the 4x400-meter relay (4:19.15).

In men's action, FSU's Ray Lee was fifth in the 60 meters (7.07). Randall Kuch finished fifth in the 400 meters (51.21) with Dakota Simpson eighth in the event (51.51). The Bulldogs' Donis Harris came in 10th in the 3,000 meters (8:32.26) and Casey Bouman was 12th in the 5,000 meters (15:48.27).

The Bulldogs' 4x400-meter relay squad of Simpson, Andrew Shafley, Ethan Hamilton and Kuch placed fifth overall (3:30.09).

Ferris State returns to Allendale for the GVSU Friday Big Meet and the GVSU Saturday Big Meet on Feb. 11-12, respectively.
