Bulldog Track Teams Perform Well At Al Owens Classic In Allendale

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's outdoor track and field squads took part in the Al Owens Classic hosted by Grand Valley State this weekend in Allendale.

For the Bulldog men's team, FSU's Donis Harris placed fourth in the 1,500 meters (3:53.63) while Noah Griffith was 11th in the same race (3:57.84).

The Bulldogs' Kyle Drouillard was sixth in the hammer throw (46.89m). Aiden McGuire finished eighth in the discus (34.95m) and Aaron Pierce was 11th in the long jump (6.25m).

Dan Hardesty came in 13th in the 800 meters (1:57.25) and Brendan Cairney was 14th in the 5,000 meters (15:19.25).

Ferris State's 4x400-meter relay team of Lucas Vandam, Hardesty, Ethan Hamilton and Kevin Wilson placed eighth (3:33.61).

On the women's side, FSU's Nyah Tyron was the runner-up in the 400 hurdles (1:04.92). Meanwhile, Claudia Wilkinson claimed fifth place in the high jump (1.52m) and Brianna Copley was fifth in the discus (43.00m) invite section. Emma Stephayn wound up sixth in the hammer throw invite (47.06m) field.

Whitney Farrell came in seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (11:25.63) while Melanea Strauss placed eighth in the 1,500 meters (18:07.48). Rebecca Marvin finished 10th in the discus (33.46m) and was 11th in the shot put (10.69m) along with 13th in the hammer throw (35.54m). Isabel Dziadzio came in 11th in the javelin (24.09m) with Molly Smith 13th (22.84m).

Makayla Roberts placed 12th in the 400 meters (1:03.25) while Kayla Muth was 13th (1:03.74). Danae Feldpausch finished 13th in the 1,500 meters (4:46.59) with Sydney Kubiak 14th (4:46.76) and Daisy Englund 15th (4:47.60).

The Bulldogs also took fifth place in the women's 4x400-meter relay as the tandem of Tyron, Roberts, Englund and Feldpausch were clocked in 4:08.86.

Ferris State will next take part in the Davenport Invitational on April 28-29 in Caledonia.
