Ferris State Cross Country Teams Compete In Greater Louisville Classic

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's cross country teams took part in the annual Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday (Oct. 1) in Louisville, Ky.

The large meet was held at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park and hosted by the Louisville Sports Commission.

The Bulldog men finished 24th overall with 590 total points while the women placed 36th overall in the Gold Division with 975 total points. Nearly 40 teams and more than 300 athletes competed in each respective race.

Senior Logan Hammer led the men's squad as he came in 62nd overall with a time of 25:05.76 in the 8K event. Junior Trevor Holowaty was not far behind in 80th place at 25:16.21 in the race.

Junior Jessica Delaney paced the FSU women's squad as she came in 215th overall in a time of 18:56 on the 5K course. Freshman Kathryn Etelamaki was close behind in 218th place with a clocking of 18:58.20 overall.

Ferris State will be back in action on Friday (Oct. 7) as FSU competes in the annual Michigan Intercollegiate Championships set to be held in Hillsdale, Mich.
