Ferris State Cross Country Wraps Up Action In Two Weekend Events

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's cross country squads took part in the Lewis Conference Crossover meet held on Saturday (Oct. 6) in Romeoville, Ill.

The Bulldog women finished 17th overall with the men 24th in the large and competitive field featuring some of the country's top squads.

FSU was paced by Katie Etelamaki on the women's side as she placed 12th overall in a time of 22:25.50 on the day. Bulldog sophomore Sydney Dawes was next in line as she finished 99th in a time of 24:04.60.

Freshman Hannah Loucks came in 107th in the field at 24:09.70 with Jordan Lee taking 111th place overall (24:11.10). Meanwhile, Jennifer Eaton took 119th place (24:14.90) with Katelyn Hutchinson 159th (24:55.0).

Senior Damien Halverson paced the men's squad as he came in 65th (26:01.30). Sophomore Mark Jacobs was next in 133rd place (26:53.20) with senior Zach Mckenzie coming in 146th (27:02.60). Sophomore Aaron Jarema finished 153rd (27:09.50) with junior Gage Clevland 159th (27:14.40) in the field.

Along with the conference crossover, the Bulldogs also had competitors take part in Friday's (Oct. 5) Lansing Community College Invitational. Junior Kolin Ghidoni led the men's squad in the non-scoring event with a 117th place finish (28:55.0) while freshman Paige Deitering paced the women by coming in ninth overall (19:10.2). Sophomore Catherine Stone also finished among the top 40 overall in 36th place (20:14.3).

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 12, at the Muskegon CC Invitational.
