Etelamaki Earns All-GLIAC Honors As Bulldogs Compete In GLIAC Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's cross country squads took part in the 2019 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships on Saturday (Oct. 26) with strong performances in the annual league event held in Westville, Ind.

Senior standout Katie Etelamaki earned All-GLIAC First Team recognition for the women's squad with a fifth-place effort in leading the women's squad.

FSU took sixth place in the women's competition and eighth place on the men's side.

Etelamaki was clocked in 21:39.3 in taking fifth place for the FSU women. Sophomore Paige Deitering came in 29th (22:47.9), junior Sydney Dawes placed 41st (23:11.5) and junior Kylie Hutchinson was 55th (23:36.4). The Bulldogs' Carissa Schurr finished 58th (23:44.9).

Junior Aaron Jarmea led the men's team as he placed 45th overall in a time of 25:54.4. Meanwhile, Weston Rackley came in 46th (25:55.3) with sophomore Donis Harris 55th (26:03.3) overall.

FSU junior Mark Jacobs came in 68th (26:21.2) with freshman Nick Dennison 69th (26:23.3).

The Bulldogs will take part in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships Saturday, Nov. 9, in Evansville, Ind.
