Bulldog Cross Country Squads Wrap Up Fall In NCAA Regional Competition

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's cross country squads took part in the 2019 NCAA Division II Midwest Region Championships on Saturday (Nov. 9) at Angel Mounds in Evansville, Ind.

The Ferris State women's squad placed 13th overall of 32 competing teams along several other individual participants.

Meanwhile, the Bulldog men were 19th with 541 total points as both teams placed among the top 20 squads in the regional competition.

Ferris State senior Katie Etelamaki earned all-region recognition with an 11th-place individual finish in a time of 21:18.8 on the 6K course.

Bulldog junior Kylie Hutchinson placed 70th (22:46.8) with sophomore Paige Deitering 77th (22:52.3) in the field. FSU junior Sydney Dawes came in 84th (22:56.5) with senior Taylor Thrush 123rd (23:36.5) overall.

Sophomore Donis Harris led the Bulldog men's squad as he finished 79th overall (33:52.2) on the 10K men's course. Ferris State junior Aaron Jarema placed 107th (34:24.2) with junior Weston Rackley 117th (34:42.9) and freshman Nick Dennison 118th (34:45.0). Freshman Brandon Wirth came in 136th (35:23.0).
