Bulldog Softball Falls To Indianapolis, 6-4

The Ferris State University softball team scored four runs but it wasn't enough as the Bulldogs dropped a 6-4 non-conference decision to the Indianapolis Greyhounds this Saturday (Feb. 20) morning in second-day Alabama-Huntsville Charger Chillout action at Wilson Morgan Park in Decatur, Ala.

Ferris State, which falls to 0-3 on the season, registered four base hits in the contest as junior catcher Rachel Mueller (Santa Clarita, Calif./Valencia) along with sophomore third baseman Makenzi Peterson (Big Rapids), freshman outfielder Morgan Kramerich (Crest Hill, Ill./Lockport), and senior pitcher-utility player Rhea Flores (Dearborn Heights/Southgate Anderson) all had one apiece.

Freshman pitcher Dana Bowler (Lockport, Ill.) started for Ferris State and went the first 1.1 innings before giving way to Rhea Flores.  Bowler allowed five runs, three hits, two walks, and had two strikeouts.

Flores came in relief of the starter Bowler and pitched 5.1 innings.  She gave up one run on two hits while issuing one walk and fanning five Greyhound hitters.
