Ferris State Rolls Past Seton Hill For Florida Win

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State put together perhaps its most complete performance yet as the Bulldog softball team rolled to a 7-1 victory over Seton Hill (Pa.) in the Florida Rebel Spring Games on Tuesday (March 6) afternoon in Kissimme, Fla.

The Bulldogs evened their record at 4-4 overall with the win at the Osceola Sports Complex.  It was FSU's second victory of the day after an exciting 9-8 win over Lees-McRae (N.C.) to start the afternoon in 10 innings.

In the game against Seton Hill, the Bulldogs received a complete-game effort from Dana Bowler in the circle as she tossed all seven innings.  Bowler allowed seven hits, but only a single run and had nine strikeouts with only three walks.

FSU bolted out to an early 4-0 advantage with two runs in both the first and second innings.  The Bulldogs added three more in the top of the fifth and the only run Seton Hill could muster came in the bottom of the seventh.

Ferris State was outhit 7-6 for the game, but Seton Hill also had two errors in the field to none for the Bulldogs.

Senior Stephanie Dusendang had two hits for the Bulldogs and drove in three runs to lead the effort at the plate.  Catcher Liz Hamming also had three RBI's, which came on a three-run homer.  Dusendang notched a double in the game.

Danielle Treaster took the loss for Seton Hill as she gave up seven runs and six hits.  She walked five and had only a single strikeout on the day.

The Bulldogs are idle on Wednesday and will return to action with a pair of games on Thursday, March 8.  FSU takes on Holy Family (Pa.) at 9 a.m. (ET) and then meets Southwest Minnesota State for the second time at 11 a.m. (ET).

FSU will also play doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday (March 9-10) to round out the trip to Florida.
