Softball Splits With Northwood At Home

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University softball team split a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) doubleheader against the Northwood Timberwolves on Wednesday (April 4) afternoon at the FSU Softball Field in Big Rapids.

The visiting Timberwolves took a 5-1 victory in game one before the Bulldogs came back to post a 7-0 shutout in game number two.

Northwood scored four of its five runs in the top of the fifth inning of game one en route to the win.  However, in the nightcap, Ferris State struck for three runs in the first three innings and added three more in the fifth to pull out the split.

FSU improved to 13-17 overall and 4-8 in league action with the split decision while Northwood now owns a 8-18 overall mark in addition to a 5-9 league slate.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Friday as they open a four-game league home series against the Hillsdale Chargers beginning at 3:30 p.m. (ET) in Big Rapids.
