Sunday Home Doubleheader Against Wayne State Officially Cancelled Due To Weather

Big Rapids, Mich. - Weather has yet again impacted the Ferris State University softball schedule as the Bulldogs have officially announced the cancellation of Sunday's (April 13) Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) home doubleheader versus Wayne State.

Heavy rains along with severe thunderstorm warnings hit the Big Rapids area on Saturday afternoon and also forced the stoppage of game two of FSU's home twinbill versus Saginaw Valley State. With the wet fields and potential forecast for further rain, Sunday's conference doubleheader has been called off.

No official makeup date for the Wayne State doubleheader has yet been set pending confirmation from both schools and the GLIAC office early this coming week. Saturday's second game against SVSU has tentatively been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 23, at 5 p.m. (ET) in Big Rapids.

The three cancelled games were part of a 14-game league homestand for the Bulldogs, which began on Friday (April 11) as FSU split two GLIAC games against Malone in its first home action of the 2014 season prior to a close 6-4 setback to Saginaw Valley State in Saturday's opening game.

With Sunday's cancellation, the Bulldogs will now continue their league homestand on Tuesday (April 15) as the Bulldogs host Ashland in a rescheduled twinbill beginning at 2 p.m. (ET). Ferris State then hosts Ohio Dominican on Thursday (April 17) starting at 3:30 p.m. (ET) before Tiffin comes to town for a league double dip on Saturday (April 19) beginning at 1 p.m. (ET).
