Tuesday's Home Softball Doubleheader Cancelled After Storms & Snow

Big Rapids, Mich. - It may be mid-April, but snow along with wet field conditions have forced the cancellation of Tuesday's (April 15) Ferris State University home softball doubleheader against Ashland at the FSU Softball Field.

The Bulldogs and Eagles were slated to square off in a rescheduled Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) twinbill on Tuesday, but wet field conditions from weekend storms plus an inch or two of overnight snow made conditions unplayable. Attempts to move the two games to other potential sites were also halted after snow fell across West Michigan.

No makeup date has yet been set for the league contest, which was originally scheduled to be played in mid-March in Big Rapids before being cancelled for the firs time.

With the cancellation, the Bulldogs are currently scheduled to return to action by hosting Ohio Dominican on Thursday (April 17) in a conference doubleheader starting at 3:30 p.m. (ET) if the field is playable.

FSU also is scheduled to host Tiffin on Saturday (April 19) in a conference doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. (ET) with several league home contests either scheduled or potentially being rescheduled for early next week.
