Start Of GLIAC Play Pushed Back With Schedule Change For Ferris State Softball

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University softball team's start of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) schedule has been pushed back a day as a change has been made to the FSU schedule.

The Bulldogs, who play their final non-conference twinbill Thursday (March 26) against Davenport starting at 4 p.m. (ET) in Grand Rapids, were scheduled to open league play on Saturday versus Walsh University in Canton, Ohio.

However, due to field & potential weather conditions, the Saturday doubleheader against the Cavaliers has now been moved to Monday (March 30) starting at 1 & 3 p.m. (ET).

With the change in dates for the Walsh two-game set, the Bulldogs will now play their first league games on Sunday (March 29) against Malone in Canton. The twinbill against the Pioneers starts at 12 & 2 p.m. (ET).

Following the trip to Ohio, the Bulldogs are slated to return home to play their first home games against Saginaw Valley State in GLIAC action on Tuesday (March 31) afternoon at the FSU Softball Field. The first pitch for game one is scheduled for 3 p.m. (ET) with game two starting at approximately 5 p.m. (ET).

The Bulldogs are also slated to be at home for twinbills against Lake Erie and Ashland on Friday and Saturday (April 3-4) of next week, respectively.

This Thursday afternoon's doubleheader at Davenport will represent the Bulldogs' first action since returning from their annual trip to Florida on March 15. FSU has already played 27 games to date this season and will have played 29 games overall prior to the start of GLIAC play this weekend.
