Ferris State Holding Eight-Hour "Bulldog Softball-A-Thon" Fundraiser On Sept. 8

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University softball squad will be holding a special eight-hour "Bulldog Softball-A-Thon" on Saturday, Sept. 8, at the FSU Varsity Softball Field in Big Rapids.

The unique fundraiser will help support Bulldog Softball and give student-athletes an opportunity to interact with the campus, community and families to grow relationships and maximize exposure to both current and potential supporters.

The goal will be to play eight-straight hours of softball with the support of family, friends, alumni and the community. It will begin at 8 a.m. (ET) and run until 4 p.m. (ET).

As part of the effort, the Bulldogs are asking various groups such as families, alumni, sports teams, campus clubs/organizations and members of the community to come and play against the Bulldogs in an inning/innings of whiffle ball, slow pitch or fast pitch softball.

Each inning will cost a team $80 (approximately $6/per person) and there is also an option for people to sponsor an inning for $80 to see the Bulldogs play against one another if they do not wish to play themselves.

In addition to the game, there will also be a meet and greet table, a "Throw Like A Girl" competition, Bulldog Softball gear sale, a raffle and a concession stand.
