Ferris State's Kodi Ramirez Garners GLIAC Player Of Week Recognition

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University sophomore second baseman Kodi Ramirez (Peoria, Ariz.) has been chosen as this week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Player of the Week.

Ramirez hit a team-leading .417 overall for the Bulldogs in the final eight outings this past week at The Spring Games in Florida. During the stretch, Ramirez compiled 10 hits and scored seven runs with five RBI in 24 plate appearances, while also generating two homers and drawing a walk.

The second-year starter had an impressive .875 slugging percentage and posted seven extra-base hits while totaling 21 total bases. She also registered two stolen bases and had only a single error in the field as FSU posted four wins against strong competition.

The Bulldogs finished the trip to Florida by winning four of their last six games and five of the final nine.

Ferris State will return to Michigan and is slated to open Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play on the road at Wayne State on Wednesday, March 20, in Detroit. First pitch for game one is set for 3:30 p.m. (ET) with game two to follow at approximately 5:30 p.m. (ET).
