Ferris State Softball Lands Standout Catcher Paige Antcliff

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University softball program has landed another talented student-athlete as Paige Antcliff recently signed a national letter-of-intent to join the FSU program this coming fall.

The announcement was made by second-year FSU head coach Jake Schumann.

Antcliff, who starred at Beal City High School, is a catcher from Lansing Community College.

"Paige is an outstanding all-around athlete with speed, outstanding defensive skills and tremendous bat control," said Schumann. "We are very excited to bring such a talented area talent back home to be a Bulldog."

An all-state catcher as a prep standout at Beal City, Antcliff earned National Junior College Athletic Association All-Region 12 honors last year at Lansing CC. She was also named to the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Team along with the MCCAA All-Western Conference First Team.

Additionally, Antcliff was tabbed last spring as the MCCAA Western Conference Freshman of the Year and landed a spot on the conference's all-freshman squad. She also claimed Lansing CC's Miss Offense Awad and played in the 2023 NJCAA Division II Softball World Series. During the season, she also earned recognition on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association JC Leadoff Classic All-Tournament Team.

In the classroom, Antcliff has also been on Lansing CC's President's Academic List three semesters and is an elementary education major.

The Bulldogs opened their 2024 spring season two weeks ago and will return to action this weekend with five games Friday thru Sunday at the Music City Invitational near Nashville, Tenn.
