Ferris State's Jadyn Joseph Claims GLIAC Softball Player Of Week Honors

Big Rapids, Mich. - For the first time this season, Ferris State University sophomore second baseman Jadyn Joseph (Holt) has been chosen as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Player of the Week.

Joseph had a big week for the Bulldogs as FSU won five games and climbed into second place in the GLIAC standings. She started all eight outings on the week and posted a team-leading .480 average with a squad-best 12 hits and 10 runs scored. Additionally, she also drew two walks and was hit by a pitch three times in 25 total at-bats.

Her totals included two doubles, a triple and four RBI's along with three extra-base hits while accounting for 16 total bases. Joseph had three hits and two doubles while scoring three times in a 12-3 win at Parkside on Monday to go with four hits, a triple and two runs scored in FSU's 7-0 shutout win over Davenport on Saturday. She also posted a pair of hits versus Grand Valley State in a league road split on Sunday.

In the field, she was nearly perfect for the Bulldogs and had 13 put-outs at second base.

The Bulldogs will next be back in action on Saturday (April 20) as FSU hosts Parkside in a GLIAC doubleheader at the FSU Softball Field. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m. (ET) for game one with game two scheduled for a 3 p.m. (ET) start. Saturday will be Military Appreciation Day and all active military members and veterans are encouraged to attend. Admission is free and the Bulldogs will be donning camo jerseys for the contest.

Ferris State then hosts Purdue Northwest on Sunday (April 21) for Senior Day beginning at 1 p.m. (ET) and 3 p.m. (ET) for games one and two, respectively.

The Bulldogs currently own a 21-20 overall record to date this year and are presently near the top of the GLIAC standings with a 9-7 overall conference record.
