Ferris State Women's Basketball Races Past Former Stars In Alumni Game

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's basketball squad got off to a strong start on Saturday as the Bulldogs raced to a 82-48 victory over former stars from the past in the program's annual Alumni Game inside FSU's Jim Wink Arena.

The Bulldogs got off to a strong start in the opening half and cruised to the win against former Bulldog players making their return to campus.

Ferris State was led by senior guard Ally Christman, who tallied 16 points in her first action back from an injury a year ago. FSU also received 13 points from newcomer Leah Humes as two reached double-digits in the win. A total of 10 current Bulldog players got in the scoring column.

The Bulldog alumni were paced by former All-America forward Rachel Folcik with nine points. One of last year's squad members, two-sport standout Alexis Huntey, tallied eight points as did another recent player in Emily Evans while Audrey (Thwing) Jacqumain totaled seven points.

The Ferris State women's basketball squad will begin its second campaign under head coach Kendra Faustin with a strong nucleus from a young team last season returning.

The Bulldogs will next travel to Bowling Green State for an exhibition game on Nov. 5 against the Falcons in Ohio. FSU then opens the regular-season on Nov. 11 & 13 as the Bulldogs host their own Bulldog Classic at FSU's Jim Wink Arena. Ferris State will play Bellarmine (Ky.) and host Ursuline in the event.
