Ferris State Posts Second-Straight Win By Beating Walsh On Road

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's basketball squad notched its second consecutive win of the season as the Bulldogs beat Walsh 60-51 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play on Thursday (Dec. 8) night in Canton, Ohio.

The Bulldogs outscored the Cavaliers in each of the first quarters and then closed the contest with a 21-18 margin in the fourth frame en route to the league road win.

Junior center Rachel McInerney led FSU with a team-high 18 points and nine rebounds in the win. Meanwhile, junior guard Leah Humes added 15 points off the bench while senior forward Joslyn Nicholson added nine points overall.

Ferris State shot 52% from the floor and made nine-of-12 (75%) throws in the win.

Brittni Clopton totaled 10 points in the loss for Walsh with Alex Hochstedler addining eight points.

FSU limited Walsh to only 27% shooting with WU converting five-of-40 (12.5%) three's in the setback.

Ferris State also owned a 43-30 rebounding margin overall.

The Bulldogs will visit Hillsdale on Saturday, Dec. 10, for a 1 p.m. (ET) league tilt in Hillsdale, Mich.
