Bulldog Winning Streak Snapped In Road Setback At Hillsdale

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's basketball team had its two-game winning streak snapped on Saturday (Dec. 10) as the Bulldogs fell on the road at Hillsdale by a 75-63 score in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.

The Bulldogs trailed by five at halftime and were down by only six heading into the fourth quarter before the Chargers closed out the win by outscoring FSU 24-18 in the final frame.

The loss evened FSU's GLIAC record at 2-2 on the year while Hillsdale improved to 7-3 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

Junior forward Rachel McInerney paced FSU with 20 points in the setback while redshirt freshman guard Riley Blair added 15 points for the Bulldogs. Junior guard Leah Humes chipped in 14 points and sophomore guard Alexis Bush netted 12 points for Ferris State.

Ferris State shot 41% for the game and was four-of-13 (30.8%) from three-point range and 13-of-19 (68.4%) at the line.

The Bulldogs finished with 20 turnovers and were outrebounded 45-36 by the Chargers in the road setback.

Makenna Ott led Hillsdale with 18 points while Allie Dewire added 17 points, Maddy Reed scored 12 points and Morgan Blair chipped in 10 points overall.

Hillsdale shot 40% from the floor and went five-of-21 (23.8%) from three-point range along with 12-of-18 (67%) at the line.

Ferris State returns home to host the Ashland Eagles on Saturday, Dec. 17, in GLIAC play. The contest gets underway at 3 p.m. (ET) and will be played at Big Rapids High School.
