Ferris State Races Past Davis & Elkins In Dominant Women's Basketball Victory

Pepper Pike, Ohio. - The Ferris State University women's basketball team brought notched its second win in as many days in the Midwest Regional Crossover over Davis & Elkins (W.Va.) on Saturday (Nov. 11) in Pepper Pike, Ohio.

The Bulldogs pulled ahead of Davis & Elkins early and cruised to a decisive 107-70 victory in the neutral site contest. FSU led 41-15 in the opening quarter and 54-34 at halftime en route to the win.

Senior forward Rachel McInerney had 23 points for the game while freshman guard Kelsey Wyman added 15 points. Junior guard Alexis Bush also racked in 12 points while freshman guard Samantha Kraus had 10 for Ferris State.

Sophomore guard Renee Sturm tallied a team-high six assists in the victory while Bush added four helpers.

McInerney led the team on the glass with sven rebounds while sophomore center Brayene Benner had five boards for FSU.

Davis & Elkins' Colleena Burdock notched 17 points in the setback while Kali Wilburn and Sydney Tucker had 11 points apiece.

Ferris State made 41-of-77 (53.2%) off its shots from the floor and connected on 14-of-29 (48.3%) three's. They also made 11-of-16 (69%) free throws.

Davis & Elkins shot 31% for the game and went seven-of-26 (26.9%) from long range and 27-of-31 (87.1%) at the line.

Finally, Ferris State forced 26 turnovers and came away with 11 steals in improving to 2-0 to start the year.

Ferris State returns home to begin a six-game homestand inside FSU's Jim Wink Arena. The slate starts Tuesday (Nov. 14) as FSU hosts Olivet in a special school-day contest starting at 12 p.m. (ET) in Big Rapids.
