Ferris State Women's Basketball Caps Perfect Weekend With Home Court Triumph

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's basketball squad stayed unbeaten after the opening weekend of the season as FSU rolled to a 79-58 triumph over Ursuline on Saturday (Nov. 10) at FSU's Jim Wink Arena.

In the regional crossover event, FSU built a 24-14 first period lead and outscored the Arrows 11-5 in the second frame to stretch the margin en route to the win.

Sophomore Adrienne Anderson led FSU with a team-high 18 points while Brayene Benner tallied 13 points, Renee Sturm scored 11 points and Lilly George chipped in 10 points.

Ferris State came up with 25 offensive rebounds and outrebounded Ursuline 56-40 for the day. Benner led FSU on the glass with 13 caroms.

Overall, the Bulldogs shot 36% from the floor and were only two-of-12 (16.7%) from long range, but hit 17-of-19 (89.5%) free throws.

Meanwhile, Ursuline shot 33.3% overall and went seven-of-20 (35%) from three-point range in addition to nine-of-10 (90%) at the line.

Ferris State, now 2-0 overall, will visit Southern Indiana on Friday (Nov. 16) for a 7 p.m. (ET) regional matchup in Evansville, Ind.
